Smart Stay Hotel Schweiz

It is a good place, near the subway and the main train station. It is only a bed and a bathroom. rooms are tight and single rooms are unbearable. shower is ok with soap and tab. towels are changed upon the policy of leaving them on the floor. internet is bad in the rooms and bad i mean not even WhatsApp. in the lobby internet is good. location is good with plenty of restaurants. near marinplatz the main square in munich.

Stayed in December with 2 friends in 3 single rooms. Its about 5-10 minutes from the main station in an area full of hotels. Reception staff were very nice and welcoming. Rooms were small and basic , expected for the price. Breakfast vouchers could be purchased at reception for brekfast on the 6th floor. Breakfast room was nice and breakfast was standard tourist class affair. Tepid scrambled egg and sausage bits and the slowest fruit juice machine ever. Its a decent location and reasonable value but as you would expect no frills

As a Native person from Switzerland I think it lingers on blasphemy to use our country in this hotel name. Schweiz and it’s famous hospitality industry is known for excellent customer hospitality, professionalism and cleanliness. This hotel was the opposite on all counts. The first thing I noticed when stepping into the room was the urine smell from the bathroom. Walls were stained and paint chipped off and there were some weird brown stains on the curtains. I wanted cancel my room the next day but was told (at 16:55 in the afternoon mind you) that this was impossible until the next morning and even if I waited until the morning he wasn’t sure if it was possible. I decided to cancel the booking in my app. 30 minutes later I was called on the phone and rudely asked to leave the hotel. No information about refunds or cancellation policy. Just “leave”. In the end I ended up paying a fortune for three nights and only stayed one. No refund will be given. Not even an apology. If I was homeless and offered to stay here for free, I would pick the street. Stay away.
