We originally booked this hotel simply to be near the airport for our early morning flight the next day. It turned out to be a pleasant stay on its own. The hotel is very attractive with an inviting sitting area and the room was quite spacious, comfortable and quiet. The hotel is well situated, only a 10-minute walk from the train station, on the main pedestrian street full of cafes, bakeries, and restaurants. It's also only a 10-minute walk to the town's spectacular rococò cathedral.

I love this hotel, but be sure to get a room with air conditioning. The rooms are modest but very comfortable. The location is excellent and it is very easy to get to or from MUC. We loved being able to park at the hotel and then walk around town. The breakfast service was very good. If you are flying in or out of Munich and you don't have the time or energy to deal with a downtown Munich visit, then this is an excellent alternative.

We had a lovely 4+ day stay at his historic hotel, and we'd recommend it highly. We had a business class room with A/C and a king size bed. Loved the view over the plaza promenade. We appreciated the helpful and friendly staff as well as the morning (included) breakfast that was a combination of continental style and individualized ordering. We had dinner in the restaurant two nights, and the food and service were superb. Our visit was before embarking on a river cruise, and we wanted a quiet locale to recover from jet lag and relax. Freising was a perfect solution, just a short taxi ride from the Munich airport. From there it was easy to take the train to our cruise starting point. I'd call this a true "hidden gem" if low-key and a slower pace are your preference. We made all our reservation arrangements online and via email, and the staff was prompt to reply and answer all our questions.
