The food was very, very bad. Breakfast was so, so meager... so that the hotel owner can save a lot of money... For the children's play area, you almost always have to pay extra money if the children want to play... Our room had no A/C... The children's play area was like a sauna... everything was set up so that you have to pay almost everywhere. An ideal hotel if someone wants to have very little and has to pay a lot... in the swimming pool you even have to bring your own towels and use the same towels all week... really a very, very bad hotel... I hope that my review is not deleted... and that I do not receive a threatening letter because of my honest opinion.

The room is very nice. Food was really super delicious, the program was great, the swimming pool is very nice, only the aquarium should be made visible so that people can enjoy watching all the fish, because most people don't know that there is an aquarium there. I think it's a shame that almost all the glass is covered in algae. You can hardly see through it. I think it's a real shame that it's not as nice as it used to be. Almost no one knows about it. I would wish for it to be cleaned better so that everyone can enjoy it, and for there to be information about it, because I find it interesting that the aquarium is in the swimming pool; almost no swimming pool has something like that, and that was also a small highlight for me. But otherwise the hotel is great.

I was at the Rhön Aktiv Hotel for three nights with my two children (6 and 3 years old) and we had a very nice stay overall.
Our deluxe studio was generously sized, modernly furnished, and equipped with a large balcony, refrigerator, seating area, and an additional sofa bed. The entire complex is quite sprawling, so you need a little orientation at the beginning. It is very practical, however, that all residential buildings are connected to the reception, restaurant, and swimming pool via underground passages – a big advantage, especially in bad weather.
The half board convinced us. Breakfast and dinner are offered in buffet form and the selection was always rich. The breakfast in particular left almost nothing to be desired for us. The lunch options, which we mainly used in the indoor playground's brasserie, also offered fair prices and good quality.
The highlight for our children was the indoor playground with its climbing areas and the large slide. The playground directly below it is also very nicely laid out and is pleasantly in the shade in the morning. In addition, there are numerous leisure activities such as bowling, minigolf, or archery.
The price-performance ratio should also be highlighted positively. At about $230 per night including half board, we found the stay to be absolutely fairly priced.
Small tips for future guests: A wooden crib costs $6 per night, parking $5 per day. Towels and bathrobes for the swimming pool and sauna must be brought along or rented for a fee. Furthermore, I would recommend the hotel primarily for families with children from about 2 years old. In my impression, there are still relatively few suitable offerings for younger children, while children of kindergarten and elementary school age get their money's worth here.
For us, three nights was the ideal length of stay. For a longer vacation, the resort would be a bit too lively for us personally, but for a short family vacation, we can definitely recommend the hotel. We would come back.
