Hotel Domizil ***Superior

A hotel with heart – absolutely recommended! We decided quite spontaneously to stay at the Hotel Domizil and were really positively surprised. Upon arrival, we were personally and warmly greeted with a handshake by the owner. Our room was functionally furnished, but perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. The mattresses are really comfortable. Since we unfortunately got caught in the rain, we were even allowed to hand over our wet clothes and shoes to be dried. A small gesture, but one that meant a lot to us. In the evening, we ate at the hotel's own restaurant and were thrilled. Although a single server handled the entire service alone, she was super friendly, attentive, and still very fast. Our children were also served very kindly and warmly; we really felt welcome as a family. The breakfast the next morning was also very good. Although it was busy, there was plenty of everything and it was constantly replenished. What we liked most, however, was the personal and human atmosphere. Here you still experience service with heart, warmth, and that is exactly what makes the stay special. We would come back anytime and can therefore recommend the hotel!

We arrived after a long drive. We were already indicated at a somewhat messy entrance (or so I thought) once at the reception waited, since I had the thought that someone would come after us. Yet after a while pressed the bell and then the woman, who had already seen us walk in, came to the reception. Not entirely friendly with a bit of a steery face, she asked for the name. She gave us the keys and told us the way, no further laughs, no information or whatever about the hotel, such as swimming pool, gym, sauna, breakfast times or whatever. Totally no welcoming reception. At the ladies' accessible toilets, the back toilet was special. There was a paper strip in front of a hole in the wall where you saw some pipes running, possibly some repairs? This paper had been there so long, the tape stopped sticking. Then put faulty on the door. Wasn't neat. Furthermore, we had 1 double room of which the mattress had a pothole, if you look closely the hotel does need some refurbishments. On the pictures it looks very neat. Our double bed had a hole in the sheet and a stain. The bath seemed to leak, as soon as we used it and my son was lying on a very small folding chair. For a 10-year-old net on, but there doesn't have to be a bigger child on it. It didn't look comfortable. Small fridge in the closet, was nice. At breakfast there was a lamp above the food full of dust, also on the wiring. This is not very hygienic. The staff who walked around didn't seem to have a good time either, not being welcomed or laughing, when another guest asks if the bacon will be restocked. As a hotel, make sure you have this well and in time and supplemented. Possibly the price was towards this. The food in the restaurant was super tasty, we ate well. On two occasions she forgot to bring a drink, on the second drink she found out that she had forgotten to bring the drink. The kids showed off in the gym, the pool (small) was full so no use of it. However, seemed a private pool. The breakfast, on the other hand, was really extensive also for the price we paid for it (that again). This is not a disapproval, but rather reality which may open eyes for more improvement. Perfect location for passing through, not far from the highway. Also know that the pillows are different in Germany than in the Netherlands and that there are no air conditioners or fans.

Old hotel, neglected and not clean, glasses in the glass bathroom used by who knows who, razor blades cover left in the bathroom (NO cleaning sign), cobwebs etc... discreet breakfast...
