The hotel is as centrally located in Lindau as you can get with both the train station and the harbor across the street. You can reach almost any part of the island within 10-15 minutes walk. I also used the hotel parking which was also close to the hotel and was very practical and reasonably priced. The hotel is in a quality and price range that is higher than what I normally stay at and thus I had high expectations of both standard and service. Overall, the hotel managed to meet these very well. The room was spacious and well cleaned. The beds were quite hard and the duvet and pillows were comfortable. As my visit coincided with a proper heat wave, it was also pleasing that the room's air conditioning worked really well. The room didn't have much of a view as the window was onto a crowded courtyard, but I hadn't booked the room with a view so it was as expected. The breakfast buffet was very high quality in terms of both quality and quantity. The service was also held after very well which meant that things did not end. Eating with a view of the harbour in Lindau didn't hurt the experience either. The hotel has indoor and outdoor swimming pools. During the moments I was with them it was very calm and thus no problem to freely choose a suitable sunbed. The water was pleasant, especially in the outdoor pool. I also used the hotel's gym, which in all honesty is mostly considered a small room with a few machines and equipment. But when you were alone in it early in the morning it was still possible to get a decent passport. Overall, the hotel met my expectations and for a couple of nights it was really nice to get to take part of the slightly more luxurious feeling. Clearly worth a stay!

Overnight family escape from the heat to an air conditioned haven! Amazing and friendly staff throughout who helped us with everything. The facilities were great. We had a wonderful stay!

Absolutely not 5 stars. Check-in was okay, with no welcoming attention, welcome drink, or anything similar. The hotel was not shown, only roughly explained. I know it differently from other 5-star hotels. The room is okay, a bit dated, but otherwise fine. The pools are incredibly cold; the outdoor one is about 26 degrees, and the indoor one is 28 degrees. I measured it. That is really very uncomfortable. I mean, the homepage mentioned something about 30 degrees indoors. The turndown service was not performed for us; I expect that at a 5-star hotel. But the absolute worst is the completely arrogant "breakfast attendant." I have never experienced such unfriendly and arrogant behavior; he takes himself incredibly seriously. Service and guest friendliness look different. You get scolded when you sit down because you don't see anyone to guide you; there are also two different entrances to the breakfast room and no desk or anything where you can stand to wait for guidance to a table, making it completely opaque for new guests. You are also not addressed by the staff, but only scolded when the head supervisor returns, after you have already chosen a table yourself. He then assigned us three separate tables for two people each and left us standing; after three requests, he finally managed to push the tables together. An absolute disgrace! We were not the only ones he scolded during the time we had breakfast. If someone behaves like a prison warden, they have no place in a 5-star hotel!!! The hotel benefits from its location; otherwise, it is absolutely not recommended.
