Hotel Waldsee

It is a beautiful, old-fashioned, very well-maintained hotel with large, airy rooms; the staff is attentive and friendly. Mr. Hartmann, the owner, was extremely helpful when we had questions about our bicycles. The hotel is located on a lake where you can swim, and now for the special part: it was one of the best breakfasts we have ever had on our travels. So much love, homemade spreads and jams, various types of bread, the coffee was good, a large selection of fruit, simply fantastic. And all of that on the terrace by the lake. I can only highly recommend it. A little tip: book directly with the hotel. We will definitely come back and will spend several days there next time. Many thanks to the team.

Lovely historic hotel sitting at the waters edge of the Waldsee. Great walking paths. Clean spacious rooms. Nice breakfast buffet. Plentiful free parking. Staff very friendly, professional and welcoming. Front rooms have balconies overlooking the water. Quiet and peaceful.

Location, cleanliness, friendliness of the staff on site, etc. give no reason for complaint. Unfortunately, I am still massively disappointed and cannot recommend this accommodation. I paid 95 EUR for a single room without breakfast and unfortunately could not sleep a single minute! Directly in front of the window under the eaves was an outside light. This was on all night. The room had no blinds or pleated blinds (note: available in other rooms) and only inadequately darkening curtains. In this price range, I expect to be able to darken a room. I would welcome it even more if hotels would refrain from leaving pointless outside lighting on all night. On-site staff could not be found at night or in the early morning. After leaving, I complained by email. I was offered 20% of the overnight price as a refund. I have not received this to date (15 days after leaving). My request remained unanswered. A bad stay on site was followed by further disappointment after departure due to a lack of service awareness. You cannot treat a paying customer like that.
