The Arthotel in Munich is affordable and within walking distance of the main train station. After a short walk, one reaches the lobby via quite steep stairs, which makes arriving with heavy luggage a bit strenuous. The hotel is divided into several complexes; the annex does not offer an elevator. The rooms are appropriately designed for a three-star superior hotel; they are small, neat, and well-organized, featuring comfortable beds and good pillows. The bathroom and room were clean, but there was still room for improvement: The windows are not well soundproofed, and the blackout curtain does a poor job. In summer, it is already very bright in the room early in the morning, and the construction site across the street looks like it will be there for a long time. The staff is very, very friendly; the breakfast does not deserve a star, but it is filling. Nevertheless, an improvement in the quality of the products would be desirable here. All in all, one can certainly visit the Arthotel well if one is willing to accept a few compromises that may not exist in other hotels of the same class.

Very good location. About 3 blocks from the central station or 20 minute pleasant walk to Marienplatz. Good size room with very comfortable bed and pillows. Huge bathroom, lovely shower and a proper hairdryer. Electric plug points next to the bed and at the desk. Coffee/tea making facilities in the room. Excellent breakfast.
