Hotel Brecherspitze

Rooms spacious and well kept. Shared bathrooms always clean and tidy morning or night. No heat in 2nd floor bathrooms or not seeing to get warm to touch so pretty frigid. Staff at check in was friendly and funny. Next night coming in for tea not so much...like use one in your room. While trip advisor listed free breakfast with booking.com my reservation stated no meals included. Not sure what I clicked different.

I cannot fault this Hotel one bit.The room was spacious and comfortable.Five minute or so walk to the underground and 7 minute train ride to the city centre. The cold breakfast buffet was superb and although I might have like something hot it wasn't an issue. We went to watch Tottenham play Bayern and if we ever need to go back will definately book the hotel again.

We booked this accommodation via Booking.com. In my personal opinion, the photos posted on booking.com are misleading and there is significant discrepancy between the presentation of this establishment and the reality. The photos are not inaccurate, but represent only (the good) 20% of the hotel interior (reception area and cantine). For instance, the photos on Booking.com show front side of the BUILDING on which the hotel name is posted, indicating that THAT is the actual front side of the hotel. However, that is not the front side of the hotel. The entrance is on quite opposite side and has nothing to do with the photos. Furthermore, the photos indicate high level of cleanliness, however, the carpets in the rooms are disastrous as well as some of the chairs and wardrobes. The establishment has common toilet and common shower. There is definitely not enough emphasis on these facts on booking.com. Wallpapers are weathered. Floor carpets (tepison) were pretty dirty. The room was pretty stuffy and windows needed to be opened in order to get some air, but when this was done the room got quite noisy because the windows face the relatively busy street (tramway, late night engine revving, etc...). However, to be brutally honest, the sheets were crisp clean as well as the sink area (located in the room). We arrived quite late in the evening (around 22:00) and found common toilets and showers very neat and tidy (in the morning these were already used, but still normally clean and tended by the cleaning staff). The parking was available on street and free until 09:00 so there was enough time to wake up (somewhat early-ish), have coffee and breakfast and - get going. We got lucky with the spot though (not sure how it is normally). Late arrival was handled by leaving the key within letter-box safe. This worked without any problems. The hotel is located somewhat in the centre of Munich but traffic was not the issue. My final opinion is that this establishment is OK for backpackers passing through Munich and I personally would not mind staying there again (if necessity arises), but if there are other options, I think I would examine them, before booking this hotel.
