Hotel Sauerlacher Post

The room was run down - bathroom old & dirty. The smell of an unpunched toilet blows into the room. Smell in the room like in a retirement home. Service personnel unable and untrained. Inside pfui outside hui. Parking great. But I have rarely booked such a bad and noisy hotel for an overnight stay. But better than staying in the car. Well...

Breakfast: Very good. Selection and quality convincing. Less successful: The large service trolley that is pushed through the dining room after each table that is vacated. Looks more like canteen than hotel – atmosphere suffers. Rooms: Clean but visibly outdated. Soap was missing. Creaking floors, clairvoyant construction, noises and footsteps from neighboring rooms. Overall, it's clearly getting old. Kitchenette: Cabinets locked, keys only on request. Explanation: “It gets stolen a lot.” Leaves a noticeable note of distrust. Service / employees: The real problem area. Repeatedly asking the room number at breakfast on weekends, sometimes every minute, sometimes with an unpleasant undertone. An employee with a “finger gun” gesture – completely out of place. Notice of defective TV was acknowledged with eye rolls. On the positive side, a single receptionist who works attentively and solution-oriented stands out. Overall: strong fluctuations between committed and clearly disinterested. Restaurant: Managed separately – and you can tell immediately. Reception calls 22:00, in fact is closed at 21:00. Getting food at 8:40 p.m. seemed like luck. Coordination between hotel and restaurant hardly available. Conclusion: Good breakfast and a (!) really good employee. The rest show clear gaps: inconsistent service, outdated rooms, signs of distrust such as locked kitchen cabinets. All right for a short overnight stay. Those who expect peace and quiet after a long day of work or trade fairs will hardly be satisfied here. Training, clear standards and leadership are overdue.

What a rockin' place. 3 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 ? Never. Internet presence succeeded, unfortunately I did not take the time to read the reviews before. Mistake, big mistake. Lobby appealing, you still had the illusion everything fits. Then in the room shock: The facility was already in need of renovation 10 years ago, cleanliness well, if you don't walk barefoot, you probably don't get anything away. But the first-class challenge was the hellish temperature in the room and especially bathroom. Without the heating was on at all were in the room loose 25 degrees, in the bathroom well over 30 degrees. Brushing your teeth alone almost led to fainting due to the temperature, and prolonged stays in the bath were impossible without subsequent medical care. Even trying to cushion that by leaving the window open all night didn't do much good except for an extremely short night with headaches and just before dehydration. All in all, a mess of the first order. I cancelled the planned stay for 23/10/2025 immediately, even if I actually have to pay the full price as a cancellation fee. Very annoying, but one more night in the shed - never.
