Mercure Hotel Munich Neuperlach South

Staying at this hotel during 35°C (95°F) days turned into an ordeal. The property proudly advertises 4 stars, but the reality falls far short of the traditional standards you expect from the Mercure brand. It makes you wonder if Mercure takes a discount positioning in Germany! Lack of Air Conditioning & Old Noisy Fan: This is the major dealbreaker. During a heatwave, finding yourself without AC in a stuffy room—equipped with only an old, noisy fan that does little more than churn the hot air—is completely unacceptable. The hotel should be much more transparent about this upfront. Other hotels in the neighborhood show integrity by clearly displaying a crossed-out AC icon in their photos; this hotel would do well to follow suit. Lousy Maintenance and Finishes: Between the torn towels, poorly hung curtains that let the light right through, and shoddy patch-up work with exposed screws everywhere, we are miles away from the expected standing. The Only Real Positive Point: A big thank you to the staff who were very welcoming and did their best by granting us an upgrade to a larger room to (partially) compensate for the unbearable lack of air conditioning. Tips / Practical Advice for Future Guests: 1. Transportation: If you are coming from central Munich, take the U5 and get off at Therese-Giehse-Allee. This keeps you within the M tariff zone. Avoid the Neuperlach Süd station, which is in Zone 2 and requires an extra ticket or strip. 2. Be sure to check the weather and room amenities before booking if you are traveling during the summer months!

You will only be ripped off. With the steep room prices, you pay 6 (!) Euros for a half beer at the reception. NO air conditioning in the room.

Access to the hotel abuses the wheels of the bags and is difficult to access. A bus cannot be parked to drop off passengers, without hindering traffic. The room is very dark and hot and have no air conditioning!!! They passed me an aerator that doesn't cool even a penguin. The color of the room is gloomy.
