Park Inn by Radisson Munchen Ost

We had come back from Baden Baden the evening we checked in and there was some confusion over the hotel location since the 4mex had been named something else in the past but at checkin all our problems ended. The staff was so friendly and accommodating and the room was really nice - large, clean, comfortable! The attached restaurant was awesome for breakfast, the train station is just a few steps away so our travel into Munich was easy, and there was a great biergarten very close called Dicke Sophie that was outstanding. Will definitely stay there again when we come back!

Although the hotel is next to a railway line, this did bother us. Instead, we found it quite convenient ad the railway station is only 3 minutes walk from the hotel. The S8 line runs from the airport to the city centre and beyond, in 20 min intervals. Hotel as such is good, rooms are of a decent size, bedding is good and so is breakfast. All in all, a pretty standard hotel.

Really poor stay at this hotel. As others have noted, it is situated directly next to the train tracks and in a residential area. If I hadn’t prepaid, I would have switched hotels on arrival. A brief summary: +ves: - 5 mins walk from S Bahn 8 which takes you straight to the airport or city centre within 20 mins. - Breakfast had a good selection although coffee not good and extremely busy/cramped. - Staff were friendly. -ves: - Had to change room on arrival because trains were going past the window, the room smelt terrible and the bedding looked crumpled and unclean. Luckily, the next room was road-facing and cleaner however very hot and stuffy. When I opened the window in the night, was woken by construction lorries early in the morning and a ventilator switching on and off outside my window. Very disturbed sleep. - Both rooms smelt faintly of tobacco smoke. Shower kept running cold. - price was extremely high due to a trade fair in the city. Over €150 per night was an obscene cost for a basic hotel in the suburbs. - Gym is tiny (treadmill, bike and stepper crammed into a hot space in the basement). Gym toilet was very unclean. - Hotel felt unsafe. Characters hanging about outside and in lobby area. Did not feel good as a lone female traveller. There are plenty of much better, cleaner, quieter, better maintained hotels in Munich for a similar price. Will avoid in future.
