My wife and I stayed at the Residence Inn Munich Central for the last two months and it was absolutely great!!!! I was teaching in Munich over the summer and so did my research on accommodations around the city. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our choice. I think it’s easy to provide good or great service for a couple of days or a week, but when one stays for a couple months, you find out what an accommodation is really like, and it couldn’t have been better. First, the location is incredibly convenient. It’s very close to the Munich Central train station (Hauptbahnhof) and it’s a short walk to either the station or the main east-west S-Bahn line, meaning the S-Bahn comes by about every two minutes - one stop to Hauptbahnhof - and you can get across the city from there. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby and directly next to the Residence is a nice mall with three grocery stores and everything you could need. Second, the hotel itself is clean and comfortable with a nice breakfast in a very nice atmosphere, good beds, and what seemed like sound-proof windows - we didn’t hear any noise for our entire stay. The washer/dryer facilities are very convenient and inexpensive. Third, and most important - the staff was just wonderful. Everything we asked for was met with a smile and immediate attention. Abu, Bibi, Lisa, Mohammed (who can fix ANYTHING) and so many others made us feel like family. It made such a difference in our stay. They are great ambassadors of the Marriott brand. I’ve spent almost two years in Marriotts so I’ve seen good and bad service, and this was right at the top. I plan on teaching each summer in Munich and will make the Residence Inn Munich Central my summer home away from home every time.

A classic Marriott experience. Very clean, air-conditioned rooms with a great breakfast.

Location is ok ~10mins walk to Hackerbrucke and ~15mins walk to Munich Central station. Few stops to Marienplatz which has lot of restaurants. Got a family day pass to travel around the city using train/bus/tram. Room size was decent with a sofa bed. Hotel only has one lift strangely so plan timed departures with buffer. Bfast spread was alright. Laundry room can have a Queue as only 2 washer/dryer (you need Eur 2 to use washing machine and another eur 2 for detergent pod - both counter staff can help with). Counter staff are friendly.
