Alpenhof Murnau

We have been here several times before over the years. In the meantime, renovations and remodeling have taken place. Since we are not as mobile anymore, we reserved a ground-floor room with a terrace in the oldest part of the hotel. In the past, you could park almost directly in front of the entrance to these terrace rooms; now, there are general parking spaces or areas have been converted into bike storage. The formerly smaller rooms have been combined to create larger ones. Partially older furnishings. Wardrobes with sliding doors were difficult to open. Our bathroom was pleasantly large, and there was a second separate toilet. A grab bar in the shower would have been helpful. A large refrigerator was available with water, beer, and Coca-Cola (replenished daily). For our small dog, there was a blanket, a bowl, and a chew stick. Our male room attendant was nice and helpful. Breakfast buffet: Extensive, but not very appealing. Plates and bowls were already quite cleared away shortly after 9, and it took a while for them to be replenished. The rolls were rubbery. Bar area: Visually appealing, but the seating was much too low for us and uncomfortable. The bartender was exceptionally friendly and attentive. Pool: We used the indoor pool because it was shadier and quieter there. Small, but nice.

We booked a break at the Alpenhof Murnau and were simply surprised because we were not here. We were greeted very friendly and accommodating by the very nice staff of the house. After a welcome drink we were accompanied to rooms and very positively surprised by the style of the room and the size. Everything wonderful Clean, everything available what you need and a filled minibar that was refilled every day in our arrangement. Despite the many rooms everything was very quiet in the house. Breakfast in the conservatory or outside was excellent (unfortunately we couldn’t taste everything 😉) and varied. The dinner was really excellent and actually the appetizer buffet would have been enough for us already as it was just fantastic from the variety and taste was excellently matched - Mega praise again to the kitchen. The staff is always friendly and helpful and has time for a few nice words together. Here you really notice the atmosphere of a 5 star house! Wellness and spa - here everyone will find something for themselves to relax and unwind. Heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi, various saunas, relaxation rooms ..... just fantastic (once you find your way around everything is easy 🤩). The hotel is wonderfully quiet on the edge of the moor with stunning mountain views. Conclusion: Wonderful time out in a great atmosphere with very nice people (staff) - we will definitely come back - Thank you for that!

I stayed one night at the Alpenhof. Panorama room with Alpine view (1st floor, No.21). Check in and out went quickly and smoothly. Friendly welcome with welcome drink. All staff always friendly and helpful. Owner Mr. Bear approached me and took a little tour with me. I loved it. He is always present at the hotel and always has a smile on his face. Very sympathetic! Room modernized, clean and good size. View towards the Alps and garden with pool. And absolutely calm. Breakfast and dinner very good. Wellness area indoors and outdoors. Highlights certainly the warm outdoor pool and the hot jacuzzi. Thumbs up. There are plenty of saunas and steam baths. The sauna village should also be mentioned separately. Small gym with the most important equipment. Landscape invites for biking and hiking. In some areas further renovation should be done. But is certainly already in the planning...Due to the increased size of the hotel, the paths are sometimes a little confused and not attractive. You can partially pass open storage rooms or the underground car park. That's not very attractive. Nevertheless, I was enthusiastic about the whole Alpenhof team and can recommend the Alpenhof!
