We stayed here for 2 nights on our way to Italy. The actual stay was very good. The hotel was clean, the room was good and the food was very good too and reasonably priced. The breakfast too was a very good selection.The staff in the restaurant at Dinner and Breakfast were busy but attentive and their systems worked very well in getting the food and drink served and cleared in a timely way. We now normally take holidays in term time as my wife is retired Teacher and have always had to take them in school holidays. I understand that when we were there it was the last weekend of their school holidays so there were lots of children, all well behaved too, but I think it was very busy because of that. What was very disappointing was the welcome and departure. Perhaps the departure wasn’t that bad, but a smile whilst we’re paying and ‘did you enjoy your stay’ or ‘hope to see you again’ or similar parting would have been good. We were sent a link to review the hotel, but as it was all in German I could only understand parts of it. However, what will remain with us for as long time was the appalling welcome! We had travelled overnight from Calais 657 miles, nearly 12 hours driving plus a number of rest stops. We got into reception at 1.45pm and waited about 10mins before anyone came! When a lady come, which we now assume was the owner, we explained we had a reservation and were told very abruptly that we were too early (we knew check-in was 3.00pm) they were very busy with changeovers and that we should walk into Nesselwang! Clearly we should have said something then, but we were in shock at being greeted like that. A simple ‘the room won’t be ready until 3.00, would you like to go to the bar/restaurant/terrace to have a drink?’ This happens in all the hotels we arrive early at - (we don’t like being late for anything). We would like to visit Nesselwang again but would probably try another hotel! We’ve stayed at the Hotel Post in the centre previously, but they were fully booked.

We stayed in the room with balcony and whirlpool, which was a little dated but spacious and clean. The kids loved the special gifts and treasure chest, this was a lovely surprise. The location is fairly quiet and isolated but we had use of a car to explore the region and took trips to Eibsee, Neuschwanstein Castle and ventured into Nesslewang for an evening meal. We ate in the hotel restaurant twice and the menu was varied enough to suit all our needs and the food was good. Good selection at breakfast too. The facilities for young children were fantastic, ours spent a lot of time on the outdoor playground and loved using the play equipment and bikes. There was a bouncy castle one evening too. The indoor soft play and football table came in handy on a rainy morning too. We used the indoor pool which was nice and clean, and quiet, although quite small. Staff were overall friendly and helpful despite us having a little language barrier at times. Overall we had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to families of young children.

We discovered the hotel by chance following a car breakdown. Returning from vacation, we were looking to get back to France. Everyone was extremely lovely and very helpful even though the season was in full swing. Special mention to Thomas, one of the managers, who bent over backwards to find us solutions, the person at the front desk (whose first name I don't know), Suzanna, Ali, and Hassan as well. This in no way minimizes the incredible experience we had with everyone. We slept for 2 nights. All the staff were attentive and very understanding of our problems and in general. The room: very comfortable and very clean. Breakfast: incredible. The restaurant: perfect. The reception: above anything one could expect in terms of quality of service, speed of intervention, facilitation... I was a manager of an outdoor hospitality business and I can attest and guarantee that everything is thought out down to the smallest detail for the welcome and well-being of the residents, whether they are families, couples... The attentions and details are numerous, as are the services. In summary, everything is perfect and we will return under better conditions (not by chance or constraint but by choice :D)
