NEVER EVER CONSIDER STAYING AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT. We booked a two night stay for two double bedrooms through Booking.com, and received a follow-up confirmation email 24 hours before our scheduled arrival time. Upon arrival, the front door was locked and after pressing the bell, standing outside in the rain, some minutes later the door was opened and we entered reception. Only there to be told: "their computer was down, all the double rooms were full, and there was no accommodation for us". Stating we had a reservation and showing the confirmatory email had no effect, although we were offered a combination of a superior double room - at a higher rate than we had contracted - and a suite at 500 Euros per night, which we refused. We then asked what else they could do to help us, and were told it was not their problem and we were told to leave the premises at once. Outside we met a guest who told us a similar problem had occurred two days earlier, so look for that review when it appears. I have only awarded 1 star as the option for Zero, or a minus score does not exist. This was a horrible experience I would not wish anyone else to suffer, and we are also informing Booking.com as the booking was through them. Oberammergau is a wonderful place, and this is so counter to the rest of the village as to be the exception which proves the rule.

NEVER, EVER BOOK THIS HOTEL. We had a booking via Booking.com. We arrived on 16 September having had a confirmation reminder of our booking the day before. We had to wait outside until they released the lock on the front door. On entry we were confronted by a lady who said she had no rooms available and her computer was down. A glance in to her office showed that the computer was working. They refused to honour our booking. They offered us rooms at 500 Euros a night which we would not accept. Finally they told us to leave their premises and walked away from Reception. I have never before encountered such rudeness and lack of service.

My experience with Hotel Landhaus Feldmeier in Oberammergau was absolutely horrible.
We arrived to check in for a reservation that had already been confirmed by email and paid in advance — €390. As I was approaching the entrance to check in, the woman who appeared to be the manager/owner came outside and did not even allow me to enter the hotel.
She immediately told me that there was no room available and claimed that Booking.com had overbooked the property. She stated that this had happened to several other guests as well. She then told me there was nothing she could do and proceeded to close the door in my face.
I was shocked by how rude and dismissive she was, especially considering I had a confirmed reservation and had already paid €390.
I immediately contacted Booking.com. They attempted to call and email Hotel Landhaus Feldmeier while I was on the phone with them. Booking.com explained that if the hotel would simply respond to their email confirming that no room was available, they could reimburse me or assist me with finding another accommodation.
While I was already stressed and trying to search for another hotel at the last minute, I called Hotel Landhaus Feldmeier to ask whether they had received Booking.com’s email. The manager told me she did not know because she was “in the basement.” I asked her to please check because I was stranded without a room that I had already paid for.
She quickly developed an attitude.
I stayed on the phone while she checked. She then told me she had received the email and claimed she responded to Booking.com. However, when I contacted Booking.com again, they told me they had never received a response from the hotel.
That made the entire situation even more concerning.
You cannot take someone’s money, confirm their reservation, refuse to let them check in, blame Booking.com, close the door in their face, and then claim you responded to Booking.com when Booking.com says no response was received.
The circumstances made me seriously question what was actually happening with my prepaid reservation and whether reservations were being handled appropriately. I will also be reporting this incident to Booking.com corporate for further investigation.
The customer service alone was unacceptable. The manager/owner was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional during an already stressful situation.
I was never allowed inside the hotel, so I cannot speak about the condition of the rooms or interior. I can only speak about what I personally experienced and what I observed from the outside of the property.
I travel frequently, and I have never experienced anything like this.
If you choose to book this property, especially if you are paying in advance, I strongly recommend keeping every confirmation email, receipt, screenshot, and communication.
Based on the way this situation was handled, I would absolutely not recommend Hotel Landhaus Feldmeier.
