HOTEL SAN GABRIELE

We spent one night at Hotel San Gabriele in Rosenheim while passing through. The hotel undoubtedly has a very special atmosphere and stands out significantly from classic transit hotels. The historic building with its monastery-like character is architecturally quite impressive. Especially the individually designed rooms and the restaurant in the vaulted cellar create an extraordinary ambiance with a lot of character and an almost medieval atmosphere. This unique concept alone makes the stay an experience. The staff was overall friendly and attentive. However, we would like to note some limitations. Our room was exceptionally small – so small that we had no space to properly open our suitcases or move freely in the room. While the deliberately simple and reduced design may be part of the concept, it did not make the price-performance ratio seem entirely appropriate to us. We would have appreciated a bit more care regarding cleanliness as well. We had dinner at the restaurant. The atmosphere in the vaulted cellar is truly special and very atmospheric. The dishes were overall decent, but not to an extent that would significantly elevate the overall impression. The service seemed clearly overwhelmed that evening. The waiter even openly addressed this himself (staff shortage) and mentioned several times that he was in urgent need of a vacation. As a result, some things were forgotten, and the wait times for the food were very long. Overall, the Hotel San Gabriele remains an extraordinary establishment with a lot of character and a special ambiance – especially for guests who appreciate historic buildings and unique concepts. However, we do see potential for improvement in terms of comfort, room size, and organization.

Great house with great style that runs through the whole house. If you get involved, then you have a great stay. Breakfast was very good.

We stayed again at San Gabriele and also enjoyed our stay there very much. Everything was perfect. The room beautiful, stylish and perfect down to the smallest detail. Dinner at the Italian restaurant Il Convento was also a highlight. And not only because of the cozy and romantic atmosphere and furnishings, but also because of the first-class food and the attentive and friendly Service. We will definitely come back.
