This gasthaus was very homely, and appeared to be family run even though it was part of a group. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Our first floor room, although not ultra modern, was spotless and extremely spacious- bonus points for having a table with two armchairs. One slight downside there was no air con, but plenty of fresh air with the windows open. We ate in the hotel restaurant the service and food was excellent. Also breakfast was plentiful and lovely on the terrace. Hotel is located within the city wall but in nice quiet square away from tourist footfall.

£160 a night for a box room because it had air conditioning. To be called out in the dining room at the front of all the other guests that we hadn't paid for breakfast (which we had) was unbelievable. Waiters during the day were very pleasant. Also didn't receive an apology when they checked their system that we had paid

We dined at the restaurant for the second time. It was super delicious. I can really recommend it. We had the menu three times with pot roast, dumplings, and red cabbage. Along with that, we had apple rings with cream and vanilla sauce, and once vegetarian. Pancakes with asparagus and wild garlic hollandaise.
