Arcadia Hotel Coburg

location is good, if you come by car, otherwise it's about 30 min walk to the train station and about 15 min to the center of the town; sleeping quality is good, the hotel is quiet ; the spacious room had no amenities (no fridge, no safe, no coffee maker); the carpet did smell a little; the breakfast is good with many choices ; the staff is mostly invisible (when you ring the bell at the reception it can take up to 10 min before somebody shows up)

The hotel is located on the outskirts of the city and is directly accessible from the motorway. Parking is available in the public car park below the hotel. Staff were not always outspokenly friendly. Upon arrival in our room there was no air conditioning but a fan. Because of the heat we opened a window but under the window was a sofa that was used as a smoking place, so the cigarette smoke and the smell of weed entered our hotel room. As this is a non-smoking hotel we were unpleasantly surprised by this. When I reported this to the reception I got the message that smoking weed has recently become legal in Germany. After some insistence I got another room, but it turned out to be next to our first room so that the cigarette smoke could still enter our room, then to room number three.... This was a nice spacious room with the disadvantages of showering in the bath and the lack of air conditioning. So here too the windows open, until another Customer went to hang out his window to smoke, so how non-smoking the hotel is remains debatable..... Hotel does have nice decoration including a table with loan plants during the stay. Breakfast was fine.

"The location of the hotel is ideal for visiting the convention center. The city centre is also within easy walking distance – about three quarters of an hour's walk. The decor is modern and appealing. Small decorations that match the location thematically create a friendly atmosphere. However, we lack a little attention to detail to make the hotel look really cool and modern. There is room for improvement in the area of cleanliness and order. Light switches, shower joints and upholstery could be cleaned more thoroughly. The idea of interrupting the housekeeping with a bag at the door is good. However, if the bag is missing, cleaning should be done, which unfortunately was not the case in our case. Also on arrival, cosmetic towel dispenser and toilet paper roll were almost empty. Breakfast times from 7am to 11am are flexible and suitable for both early risers and late risers. However, the quality and variety of breakfast options could be improved. Products from large packages have a less high-quality and sustainable effect. In summary, the hotel is fine for a short stay. For a longer stay, however, we would like more quality and attention to detail."
