Astor Hotel

Checked in and went to room 305. Nice size room with two single beds placed together. The bed covers were ok but the pillows were the worst I have ever slept on. It felt like half the stuffing had been removed. Not even comfortable when folded in half and they do not seal. The desk was ample size with sufficient electrical outlets but lacked overhead lighting, so it was not of much value after dark. A refrigerator and in-room safe were provided. No electric kettle, only a pod style coffee unit available. The bathroom had a walk-in shower but only one soap dispenser for body and hair. When you showered the water splashed out onto the floor making a slippery mess. The water temperature kept going up and down, either too hot or too cold. Breakfast was mostly European style of meats and cheeses. Normal coffee machine offering all kinds of flavors at lukewarm temperatures

I liked the hotel, not that crowdy, fast checkin and even faster checkout, friendly staff, simple but good breakfast. Room was clean, bathroom clean.Location is great,trans, busses, city center is like max 10 minutes walk away.Our bus trips were also max 10 minutes walk away, really good. What I did not like was the noise coming from outside, because the windows had no insulation. A little cold wind was coming inside, but the noise was the worst. Yelling and talking untiil 5 AM, you could hear everything. There was a club over the street, other hotels, not good. I really recommend insulation! And if the room is for 2 then a double bed would be ok or just connect permanently the sparate beds so they do not drift apart. And one big bed blanket would be also good, not two small.

Lost our luggage from supposedly locked and secure luggage room. Still waiting for this to be resolved with poor communication. Hotel itself is okay but security is lax and the area surrounding is not nice. Full of lap dancing clubs and betting/gambling shops. Lots of disturbance at night. Main hotel doors are just left open and anyone can wander in. Do not stay here.
