Hotel Cocoon

We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights, paid nearly 4 months in advance for Oasis Cocoon and Garden Cocoon room total of 1 396 EUR, 2 adults + 1 child, with breakfast. We expected to get some service, for the room rate of 266/273 EUR and 238/245 EUR per night during the weekend. PROS: Good location, near the old town. The weather was extremely hot - over 35 degrees. Luckily the AC was functioning. Common areas are tiny, overcrowded but clean. Staff at the reception/breakfast bar was polite and very busy running here and there. CONS: Negatives: Self check-in late evening took too long. Door slam noise at late night. Rooms - dark and shabby, curtain hanging in the middle of the room, separating the bed from the "bathroom area", no bathroom privacy . Breakfast room with open design - all food platters were left uncover ( only one cheese platter had a cover) Big bottle flies (green ones ) trying to lay eggs around exposed food, probably part of the vegan-friendly breakfast options, is disgusting ! Despite the African heat wave not a single bottle or drop water was left in the rooms - this smart hospitality gesture could be caring and touching initiative. Kitchen smell of flyers from the ground floor all afternoon and evening, no way to get fresh air for a minute. Actually all services - housekeeping - making the room, towel change, cleaning and emptying the bins, free water bottle, etc. are all only upon request! No one enters the rooms, no one pay any guest attention unless asked. For sure there's a hotel staff on duty - we've seen some every morning having breakfast before breakfast closure. Hidden behind an eco-friendly policy, the lack of hotel service is what we got. We will definitely never go back to Cocoon Sendllnger Tor.

Great hotel. Decent location, a walking distance from Marienplatz. Nice staff and great food and breakfast. The hotel has a bar at the lobby - great atmosphere. Poor wifi.

Centrally located hotel, very convenient for the metro stop to and from the airport; otherwise, thanks to its location, we always moved on foot. The common areas are neat, modern and pleasant, and there is also a rooftop. The room (I had chosen a superior type) was really spacious, with a Jacuzzi in the center and a large shower separated from the area with sanitary ware and sink. Only note: despite the generous size of the room, the bed was positioned against the wall, so to descend from one side you had to pass over the other. A choice I didn't understand, since there was no lack of space. The room is equipped with a safe, minibar and wine glasses; in addition, you can request free water at the hotel bar. The staff was friendly and helpful. It's a style we really appreciate. Recommended.
