Recently stayed one night at Hotel Strauss along Juliuspromenade in Wurzburg. It is a very convenient location if you want to stay in the city centre, walking distance to all major attracdtions. Reservation was made through booking.com and handled as expected. Check-in staff was very friendly, we had key and were making way up to our room in just a couple of minutes. There is a attached restaurant on the ground floor and restaurants all around the hotel. Importantly, there is also a large underground carpark (Juliusgarage) just next to the hotel, perfect for those with vehicles. As for the room, it is basic but decent. We had two single beds, they were medium firmness and ok comfort wise. Bathroom was tiny, with standing shower and toilet squeezed between small shower and wall. Room included fridge, TV, A/C, small work desk, safe and small open hanging space clothes. No kettle, tea or coffee. On the whole, the room is a bit spartan for the room rate but the location with convenient nearby parking which makes Hotel Strauss a decent choice if driving and wanting to be near the old town.

Nice hotel in an ideal location. Walking distance to the center/main bridge in a few minutes. We were able to use one of the hotel's (few) parking spaces directly in front of the hotel and were allowed to check in before the official date. The staff are very friendly, the breakfast offered a great selection and was very tasty. Our room was quite small (which was no problem for a weekend), the rooms of the fellow travelers were much more spacious. The view into the backyard was not particularly appealing, but did not bother us further. Unfortunately, it was very warm in the room, even after turning off the heating. This and the nightly outside and inside noises have affected the quality of sleep somewhat. Nevertheless, the hotel is basically recommended for a short trip.
