Hotel Pension Arta

I wish I had read the reviews thoroughly before booking. I was staying in Berlin for the night and needed last minute accomodations. I found this place online and then found out their reception closed at 8 pm (so I had to leave dinner and rush over there to get the keys before they closed). The "hotel" is on the top floor of an apartment complex. The staris, hallways, and elevator are very dirty. The bedroom of 2 twin beds was very unwelcoming. Only one of the beds had sheets on it and the other just had a thin blanket covering the matress (which was also very old, stained, and dirty). The room had an overall bad smell. I just wanted the night to be over to get out of there. This place should not be called a hotel.

Ok first off this place is disgusting. The hallways smell like mold and the carpet looks like it's coming off. They charged us over 100 euro for a two bedroom but when we got here, it was only on room with two beds pushed together and a bed right next to the "double bed". I found a pack and play im the closet in the hallway and when i set it up it also looked like its never been washed ans had been used for years. Then on the website i found out that they charge an extra 10euro just to use the pack and play! Second off, I called the reception desk 3 times to ask for the Wi-Fi password and each time, he would hang up on me after I asked. He barely speaks English so I called my friend who is fluent in German and he told her that he doesn't answer phone calls after 8pm!!! But I had been calling him for hours!! Lastly, the pictures on the site are NOTHING like the real deal. The bathroom smelled like someone had recently took a dump. I would rather sleep in my car then come here again!

For a city break it's a good, cost-effective stay. Considering you probably won't spend much time there it is fine. As we went for Christmas markets, it was good that the room was always very warm when we got back. Only a 5 min walk from underground and train station. Good priced breakfast. Totally fine. Also a big shopping centre nearby and plenty of places to eat.
