Atrium Charlottenburg

Terrible hotel. The rooms were delivered to us at 16:00 in the afternoon despite it being written on the website that they would be delivered at 14:00, but who cares about the times, right? Entering the room I immediately notice a small room. The bed was not made, on it there was a sheet over the mattress cover that had to be laid out independently, they just put it on the bed. The blankets? One for a triple room. The pillow? Flat, uncomfortable, it looked more like a piece of cardboard than a pillow. I enter the bathroom and immediately notice the dirty shower, both on the outside glass and on the inside glass, so I go down to the reception pointing it out: to answer me a guy who tells me that by now the cleaning lady had left and that they would clean it the next day. The next day, as soon as I got back to my room, I noticed that the shower was still dirty in the exact same spot, so not only had they not cleaned, but they probably had no idea what it means to clean. Leaving aside the shower we get to the most disgusting part: having been with two other friends of mine and having all my period, after the shower the night before the towel had gotten dirty, so in the morning we throw it on the floor, universal symbol: “Please change it.” When I return to the room, however, I not only find the same dirty towel but find it lying on my bed. A DIRTY TOWEL ON THE BED WHERE I WAS SUPPOSED TO SLEEP. Outraged I go down to the reception again and here I find a blonde girl who, after seeing the disaster I had just found, gets angry with me because I had been the one to dirty the towel and that they would change only one because they do not change the towels daily, BUT ONLY EVERY 3 DAYS. Total disgust. For the rest of the stay I dried myself with toilet paper. I manage to get all three towels changed and when the girl takes them to the room she tells me annoyingly that, again, the cleaning lady had already left and that she should therefore clean the shower herself. To which I say “okay, got it,” but as she could see, the shower was dirty. He says nothing, cleans up and leaves without saying a word. Breakfasts, if you like salty, may be fine, but if like me you eat only sweet, you better bring cookies from home. Sweet practically nothing except mini portions of a sort of German Nutella and sandwich jam... Also every day identical stuff. In the hotel there were also some unrecommendable people, Romanian men in their thirties who occasionally bothered my friends. In short, if I had stayed in a metro station, it would have been an 8 star hotel compared to this “hotel”, if you can call it that.

I was stranded in Berlin because of snowfall. So I was glad to have found this cheap place to stay. You can't expect the service of a five star hotel, yet it was a pleasant stay, the rooms were clean, the beds comfortable and each room had its own bathroom. In addition, there was the friendly reception and the possibility of luggage storage. Breakfast I have not booked and not used, so I can not rate it.

It is a simple budget hotel. Breakfast I had not booked. The 24-hour reception was advantageous as my train was delayed. The rooms are simple but pleasant and clean, the service friendly. There are numerous cafes and restaurants, as well as a shopping street with shopping center in the area. The connection by public transport is good, motorists will find a free parking space on the road in the area. Conclusion: Cheap hotel without much extras.
