Hotel Maison Am Adenauerplatz

The hotel is located very close to the U-Bahn „Adeneauer Platz“ and within walking distance of the S-Bahn „Charlottenburg“. The walls of the room were painted in dark brown and the paint was chipping off the wall. There were also stains on the wall. They definetively need to be painted. The room was very cold and rather noisy (street). The lamps were not very helpful, and there was a huge gap between the door and the floor. The price was definetively too high for what the hotel offers. Breakfast is not available before 8 a.m.

Our room was facing the street, so it was a bit noisy (mostly during the day). In front of the window there was a balcony, but we did not have access to it. Instead, our neighbouring guests has access, and they we’re therefore able to look directly into our room... That was a bit wired! Breakfast was ok I guess. Cleaning however, could be better.

I reserved the accomodation on web -- chosen the option "no prepay needed - no advance payment". On their website I checked the "Terms and Conditions" which confirm that you have to pay on the place your card details only for validation. It contains: "4.2 The acceptance and the selection of credit cards are left up to the hotel in each case. The hotel is authorized to check the validity of credit cards and reserve due. The credit card is not charged prior to arrival. The indication of the credit card data only serves as a guarantee for the booking in case of cancellation." Despite of it - within 2 hours after the reservation - they charged my account the WHOLE amount of the fee. Not a certain "amount" but the whole. Without any warning. So they have the technology and infrastructure to charge an account within 2 hours - but they do not have the technology and infrastructure to reimburse it within 10 (more) days. What more they do not bother themselves to answer the e-mails to give any information. It is a failure of consumer centricity and fair business methode. Avoide them.
