Mercure Hotel & Residenz Berlin Checkpoint Charli

By and large, the hotel was okay. In my eyes, it has aged a bit, but it is clean and well-maintained overall. I personally no longer find carpeting in the room to be modern. There are slippers provided for that. The location is good. A quieter street. A good base for a city trip. The breakfast was very good. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom well-maintained.

We had room 104 (which is the same as 204). It sleeps two adults and a child (maybe two small kids). The room is two, or maybe three floors. Very cool - especially for kids! Two toilets, one very nice bathroom. Fridge, TV, safe and spacious storage. Nice bar. I believe there is a sauna. Very nice location! Only negatives: 1) very expensive (but nice) breakfast. Go somewhere else for breakfast if your'e on a budget, there are good alternatives nearby. 2) There was a small blood stain (3 mm) on my sheet. For me not a very big deal. They changed it upon request. All in all very nice stay - at least on our very nice room

Staff intrusion 3 times despite the signs on my door Staff at the reception for arrival and departure were very unprofessional, unpleasant, and extremely cold. They do nothing to make your stay easy and enjoyable. And especially if you do not speak German or perfectly fluent English. The hotel is very well located and quite pleasant, but I will keep a very unpleasant experience of the reception, so I would hesitate to return, as I come regularly to this city.
