Landhotel Burg im Spreewald

We have been to the country hotel several times and always enjoy coming back. Great breakfast, very nice grounds, and excellent service.

When we arrived Thursday 09/17/2026 at approx. 4:30 PM, we spontaneously had the impression of checking into a sanatorium. Regarding the check-in, the staff member gave a lecture on the topic of towels, bathrobes, cards back and forth, dinner in the main restaurant 33€ per person and pre-order, otherwise "you won't get a seat"! We immediately preferred to dine in the nice restaurants around the hotel, which was definitely a good decision! The receptionist left a terrible impression, which noticeably clouded the view of the other staff! If I give the same greeting speech 30 times a day, it is to be assumed that every guest is given the impression that it is being recited just for them. No warm welcome or pleasant stay. Simply blunt and disinterested, just hospital level! Which the predominantly older ladies and gentlemen in their bathrobes also conveyed throughout the entire hotel complex. The hotel is perceived as a very well-functioning economic system, where everything works perfectly and a smooth operation is also guaranteed. The staff lacked individuality and consideration for the guests' wishes. Tidy hotel complex with very clean rooms, with two pools (indoor and outdoor), as well as a sauna. Conclusion: Decent spa hotel for older people, with few special requests. The breakfast can definitely be recommended as outstanding, with the Czech chef very eager to refill everything immediately whenever it ran out. Very attentive and courteous. Which cannot be said of the Vietnamese service robots with their sadly sullen looks. It was always a very uncomfortable feeling during the stay to have been exposed to those looks. A German waitress with a braid, on the other hand, stood out very much due to her friendly and funny manner. Unfortunately, I could not say goodbye to her, because according to the Vietnamese waitress, she was on a break. (1. 10:35 AM and 2. 11:10 AM) A pity, therefore many thanks this way! The consistently young employees at the reception also make statements about services and prices that are all simply wrong. Offer for a stay at the reception €1,500 / online booking €800 - the average guest really has to wonder whether that is intentional or just ignorance! Conclusion: Tidy and well-managed (spa) hotel with a small private zoo and good food quality, in a beautiful location in the Spreewald. Rooms are fine, although it seems reasonable to generally question the price-performance ratio.

The room is comfortable, the location is nice, the service is right. Parking options near the room are very limited. We are satisfied.
