For our stays this time we used the Hotel Marco Polo. Already in advance we had a very good contact both in writing and by phone. One room had some technical errors that could be communicated to the staff and partially fixed during our presence. The facility is functional but acceptable for the price. The internet got off several times during our stay, but after a short time was always available. The hotel is located in a quiet residential area and although my room was facing the street, there was no noise from there. A spacious balcony invites you to linger in fine weather. Due to the residential area with many
Courtyard entrances, parking is very limited. A parking space is provided by the hotel for a fee.
There are several bakeries with breakfast options in the area around the hotel.
Due to the favorable price and the optimal location, U-Bahn and S-Bahn, with a very good timing, are always within 5 minutes walking distance, the stay is recommended for a visit to Hamburg.

The room was small, with an average size bathroom. The location was kind of far from the sights we wanted to see. It took us about 2 hours to walk the 6 km to the Miniature Wonderland, which is close to the Elbphilharmonie concert hall. There are plenty of bus stops along the way though.
The hotel is a small building, not what we expected from a hotel. Parking was at a detached park house (a few minutes walk away), for a daily fee. We were lucky and found a parking space along the street. Street parking is free.
We did not take the breakfast, since, like so many others pointed out, it only consisted of coffee and a couple of slices of bread and cheese or cold cuts. There are several restaurants close by, some offering warm breakfast for a reasonable price, with eggs made to order.
Our room had a balcony, which was nice, although it was on the side of the street. We received two keys (and I mean keys, not key cards!), one for the front door and one for the room. Wi-Fi was available and worked fine.
