Gobel's Hotel AquaVita

We wanted to give my mother a great gift for her 85th. birthday and booked a handicap-accessible deluxe room and a comfort room.. We were in the annex. Here, as a person with limited mobility, you can only get there via 2 elevators and a long hallway. The deluxe room was a disaster. It was old and worn out and not at all accessible for people with disabilities. The old bed was low, there were no grab bars by the toilet, and no balcony. Dinner was okay on the first evening. On the second evening, 2 out of 3 main courses were already gone by 7 p.m. Only the skeleton of the salmon was left. Nothing was replenished. When asked, there was only a shrug. The staff seems indifferent and uninterested. It seems more important to them to take their own break and help themselves at the buffet. In the morning, I called the beauty department and didn't reach anyone. At the reception, I then encountered an employee who told me I should call back later. She was going to get breakfast first.... Before booking, I called the hotel several times and asked if the thermal spa was accessible. The answer was yes, yes. In reality, you have to navigate stairs. The sauna can only be reached via a steep staircase in the basement. The hotel made a loveless, neglected impression on me right upon arrival, as did the thermal spa. That is also my overall conclusion. Stay away from the unrenovated rooms.

There is no air conditioning in the entire hotel and it smells like sewage almost everywhere. The staff in the restaurant is very friendly and helpful, which cannot be said of the reception. When there were problems, we received snappy answers. Most of the food from the buffet consists of frozen food.

When checking in, we only got more information about things like breakfast when I asked. Had a nice room with a terrace. With a beautiful view of the park. We were missing a minibar/small fridge, which is quite strange nowadays. The beds were a bit less. The wellness section was fantastic. Breakfast and dinner were very good.
