So the 2nd pit stop of my German tour was in Frankfurt and I was referred to this hostel in Munich. Pros - - affordable price - walking distance from main train station - strong wifi - clean rooms and corridors - common bathroom also clean - staff was nice and friendly and suggestive. - good food / restaurant options around Cons- - Horrible locality All drugged, drunk people hanging around, begging and at times following you - Very close to red light area If you like that this will be a PROS Else the evening can be more scarier - bathroom too small in the room for shower for some one 6 feet tall Frankfurt was a city which I have heard about so much since childhood and referred in so many ways in movies, series. But I was thoroughly disappointed with the city, empty, too quiet not thing much to do. Maximum one day is enough for the city, believe me.

The hostel is quite descent with bunker soft matrices and is right in the heart of the city center with 0.3 km of walking distance to the Frankfurt Central station. The rooms has lockers where you can put the luggage with your own lock. The hostel uses access card system that need to be swapped to enter inside the room/facilites. The only cons I see was that: 1. Toilets are outside the room as although there were ample of them on each of the floor. 2. The breakfast at the hostel really need improvement. Overall a pleasant/safe stay with good friendly staff.

Germans are not exactly known for their friendliness and United Hostel Frankfurt City Center did not disappoint when it comes to that generalization. As I was waiting in line to be checked in, I was rudely verbally attacked by the receptionist, who tried to instruct me on how to greet someone. But, that was not the only point of contention and it only spiraled downward from there. Unfortunately, Frankfurt doesn't have enough hostels in the city to begin with, with the other options just as bad or even worse, forcing me to extend my stay there. Nearly every day I was there, I had to contend with rude receptionists that argued with me or talked to me as if I were a child. The problem with Frankfurt in general is that there are few hostels in the city, so the few that are there have carte blanche to treat visitors however they want as they almost have a monopoly, and they act accordingly. The room I was staying in had a dirty bathroom that was never cleaned. In fact, there were clothes hanging atop the shower when I arrived, and they were STILL in the exact same place the next evening, proof that the cleaning crew either never entered and cleaned it. Bottom line? When I am paying my hard-earned money to stay anywhere, I expect to be treated with respect, not talked to like I stole something. I would advise anyone that MUST come to Frankfurt to stay somewhere else or as few days as possible in this place. 눇 The location was central, its only saving grace.
