Das Landhotel am Tratzhof Fulda

I deliberately booked this hotel because I was looking for a small hotel with breakfast and a cozy atmosphere. I was all the more surprised that I was accommodated without comment in the boarding house about 200 meters away – and in a basement room there. A room in the basement is essential information for me that should be openly communicated at the latest during check-in. The window is in a light well, you can see neither the sky nor the weather, and even during the day I had to turn on the light to read. In addition, there was practically no mobile phone reception. I was especially disappointed by how my complaint was handled. At first, I was told that the room I had booked was not available. A room in the hotel would only have been possible for an extra charge. Subsequently, I was offered a discount of €5 per night – and after my disappointed reaction, it was immediately withdrawn. At no point did I feel that my justified disappointment was taken seriously. Instead of understanding or a solution-oriented reaction, I was met with a rather cold and dismissive attitude. For me, the way a complaint is handled shows how service-oriented a hotel really is – and here I was unfortunately very disappointed. My impression: The actual problem was not the room itself, but the lack of transparency regarding the accommodation and the handling of my complaint. With open communication and more appreciative service, I would have rated the stay much more positively.

The hotel is historic and allows you to rest well in a quiet village. The rooms have been recently renovated, you sleep well. The bathroom is a little older but clean. I had dinner at the restaurant, asparagus with cutlet, very tasty but the cutlet was a bit too greasy. Breakfast with local products, very good yogurt. Price more than reasonable. You drink a Schwarzer Hahn and a Hochstift Pils, on tap. Both not exciting but drinkable.
