Best Western Plus Hotel Darmstadt

Lovely, clean rooms. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff

A more-than-basic hotel but sparse in general. Set back from the main street it is quiet, and sits above a parking garage (which we never heard anything from in the hotel). The lobby is quite sterile and customer service is formal and polite but not particularly warm or welcoming or friendly. Room was a very good size and comfortable for a 2-night stay. Seem to be more business travelers and it was quiet for sleeping. Convenient to walk to several cafes and restaurants. While there was nothing "wrong" with this stay, I think we'd look for something more charming or personable/friendly for a subsequent stay.

Parking garage entrance is hard to find, 2 satnavs failed in one-way traffic, we circled it extensively until the access was found. The hotel strangely accessible by stairs... the start was stupid. But then. Everything very clean, room with window to open, quiet, shower with lots of water, hot water, bathroom bright, great mirror, - what you have to experience sometimes .... here the total opposite. The beds sooooo comfortable, air conditioning very discreet, breakfast buffet good, fresh fruit salad with cottage cheese is fully delicious and the roof terrace is very pleasant. Unfortunately, smoking is allowed there, which I did not like, but life is not a wishful concert. On Feb. There were zero smokers outside for the day. To the staff, all diligent and very very nice.
