Hotel Restaurant Haus Waldesruh

Great location for hiking the old castle path. Room with balcony and nicely decorated. A nice accommodation with delicious breakfast and dinner. Unfortunately, I had to deduct a point for the cleanliness, as the floors were not vacuumed or mopped.

Very close to the French border, this little hotel is basic at best, and a challenge to mobility impaired patrons, as it has a long flight of stairs to access accommodation. The food in the restaurant is excellent.

Hotel Waldesruh near Pirmasens has average rustic rooms. For the quality of rooms they are quite pricy. The restaurant integrated into the hotel is awesome, the chef's mother owns the hotel. Their presence gives it a very family-like atmosphere. The chef is excellent and makes great food from Schnitzel with french fries to salmon steaks superb food. He is cooking together with top of the line German cooks like Johann Lafer at various national and international events The location is great for people who like to spend some time away from the rush in the Palatinate Forest, surrounded by a medium mountain range, lots of forest and many castles. For example the founding grounds of what is Germany the "Hambacher Schloss".
