Schlosshotel Bad Wilhelmshohe

We were at this hotel for the first time after a recommendation. The location is outside of Kassel and within walking distance of a beautiful park. The hotel is nice, but unfortunately it has seen better days. The service is friendly, but sometimes a bit unfocused. Sometimes the staff brings food to the table that was not ordered or wants to bring desserts even though you are not finished with the main course and did not order desserts at all. The best thing happened to me in the spa area: I booked a full-body massage for 50 min. After 30 min, the masseuse said she was finished and wished me a nice day. After I asked if the legs were not included in a full-body massage, she looked at the slip again and noticed that I had booked 50 min. The relaxation was, of course, over. That really should not happen. All in all we were satisfied, but would not come here again just for the hotel. The nearby park, on the other hand, is beautiful and you can go on many hikes.

The location is unique near the castle in the mountain park. The check-in and check-out were friendly and fast. I had a room in the annex. For that, the luggage has to be carried through the hotel, down and up stairs, and then up a longer staircase. No air conditioning, but quieter than the rooms in the main building facing the front. The guests there had to endure the loud music from an event over the weekend. It was annoying that the cleaning staff simply came into the room in the morning. Without knocking first, and scolded me that I should kindly hang out the do not disturb sign. At breakfast, you are asked to wait to be seated. You end up waiting longer, or you just sit down somewhere. The restaurant has more of a train station atmosphere. The white wine ordered was at room temperature. No new, chilled one was brought, but instead it was offered to put the bottle in the cooler……. The building is easy to reach by public transport.

Great for my business trip. The room was clean and quiet. Wi-Fi stable. Breakfast sufficient. Fast check-in/out. Located especially in a quiet great location up in Kassel
