RAMADA WILLINGEN

Room No. 230 Room dirty - Very strong stench - Musty and stinky Spiders and insects on the wall and curtains Brown stains on carpet - Furniture heavily worn - Room not habitable Reception extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. Manager not reachable after several attempts. An offer for an upgrade for an additional charge with our approval was then suddenly denied! We left the hotel in a hurry and tried to get our money back over the following days, unfortunately without success. Never again !!!!!

I booked the hotel with my wife and our two children (1 and 5 years old) from 07/22 to 07/24 for a short trip. Unfortunately, my wife was taken to the hospital by ambulance as an emergency early in the morning on 07/22 and has been an inpatient there ever since. A description was sent to the tour operator (Hotelgift/ Expedia). They stated that they would try everything in their power to ensure that the hotel provides a goodwill refund. After a few days, the tour operator disappointedly informed me that the hotel, despite the unexpected personal situation, would not allow any goodwill gesture or rebooking to a different date. A refund of approximately 8 percent was said to be possible. Because of this, I personally contacted the hotel. A phone call with the lady at the hotel reception was unfriendly and showed little understanding. Furthermore, the director was on vacation and there was no deputy, so there was no possibility to resolve the problem. Because of this, I sent an email to the headquarters in Berlin, among others. The (telephone) contact with them was very friendly. I wanted to personally give the hotel, or rather the chain, the opportunity to act as hospitably as possible. After communication via email was not successful, I tried again by telephone. Once again, the hotel acted very unkindly toward us as guests and showed no interest in resolving the problem. The director is now sick, and there is still no substitute. The reviews themselves are quite solid, however, it can be said that the hotel acts quite unkindly when problems arise and in no way in the best interest of the guest. I do not expect a full refund of the travel costs. Especially regarding the mentioned personal situation, I would have expected at least a certain degree of friendliness. My family and friends, some of whom were present during the phone calls, were shocked by the way it was handled. For me personally, the hotel in Willingen is unfortunately no longer an option.

So there's no question the house is getting old. The bathroom in our room has already been refreshed. It looks good. The rooms still need it. BUT everything was clean and the mattresses a dream. In the restaurant there is only buffet for dinner. At the reception, however, it says battered what there is. So you can consider in advance whether the investment of 32,-€ per person is worth it. We used it the first night and the pork fillet was great. Breakfast solid, nothing extraordinary but solid. Swimming pool and the whole area great. Hot tubs also great. 3€ per course but great. Everything was clean there too. Staff was nice by the bank away. All in all, it was great and we would love to come back. Thanks for everything.
