Koenigshof Am Funkturm

The hotel is located near the main train station on a multi-lane thoroughfare through Hanover. For that reason, because it is relatively centrally located, I give it 2 stars. One can quickly reach downtown. BUT: due to image editing and favorable angles from the photographer who took the pictures for the hotel, it looks relatively decent online. In reality, it is located in a dirty, worn-out area near the main train station. In front of the hotel, there is dirt, trash, and shady characters everywhere. Noise in the room from the street, which means one cannot sleep with the window open in the summer. The hotel itself shines in early 2000s chic and therefore does not look inviting at all. As if time had stood still here since 2004. The rooms are poorly insulated, old, and worn out. Many praise the cleanliness here. I do not even want to know what germs are lurking in this worn-out carpet. The bed is uncomfortable, the pillow is extremely flat, which causes neck pain, the shower is very cramped, and it also smells musty in the rooms. The television is no longer a tube TV, but it is not modern either. The refrigerator cools very weakly. The hotel is advertised as a 4-star hotel. It does not give that impression. A motel/guesthouse or something similar would be more appropriate. The breakfast is okay, not a particularly good selection. One always sees the same empty faces at breakfast every day. It is dreary. It is nice that the hotel has an underground garage; however, it is super narrow and winding. They charge 15€ per day, which is still acceptable. The staff is not particularly friendly. The employees at breakfast do not even say good morning. Personally, I would never come back here again. I was here for work; the accommodation was provided by my employer (he apparently does not like me).

The hotel is a few minutes walk from Hanover Central Station. I had a room facing the street. At my travel time with the window closed, this was possible. It can get a little louder at night. The room was clean and specially decorated. Breakfast was varied and good. Staff at reception friendly.

Very spacious rooms, (I had the superior) The breakfast is quality and satisfies all tastes from sweet to savory . the staff is courteous and helpful. Convention own parking in front of the hotel at 11€ per day. In its lobby hotel has nice furnishings including a rolleroice 30/40s Excellent value for money. Water in the room ( glass bottle ) offered . Excellent value for money
