Hotel Westfalia

Perfect location. Friendly staff. Nice room, beautiful breakfast room + good breakfast. Enclosed bicycle storage with charging station.

We were greeted by a very “weird” doorman at Hotel Westfalia. When he heard that we had arrived from the Leipzig area, it was located in Poland/Pomerania. In that style it went on... 35 years after reunification! You spend the most precious time of the year and are washed off levelless right in the first few minutes! By the way, the Pomeranian Voivodeship is located near Gdańsk directly on the Baltic Sea and floppy 750km from our homeland, it had not yet been worded to him. On my still friendly remark “the Lord” but very poor geography knowledge was only grinned for his part. He's not a respectable poster boy for a hotel! In my eyes, the gruesome welcome I have ever experienced in hotel. And not suitable for a super great city like Bremen. From then on, there was no need for discussion on our part. The hotel itself advertises on booking with photos that are probably at least 10 years old. A stake chair is available. Our room on the 3rd floor had plenty of renovation jam. No pictures on the wall, the lamp above the bed hung at half past eight. The bathroom was tiny and the tile joints in the shower cubicle black mold. The hair dryer was yellowed, loud and not exactly powerful... The well-sized desk is available, the closet has storage space only for short stays with 2 people. The TV offers a choice of base channels and Sky, without radio. Wifi was available and stable. The hotel is located right at the intersection of two four-lane streets with tram and bus stops. Pros: Thanks to Bremencard we did not need to search for a parking space in the old town and could use public transport for free. Cons: Of course, it is quite noisy with the windows open from 4am. The small square poppet valve in the bathroom does not manage the air exchange. Air conditioning is not available. The breakfast room is tastefully decorated. The very simple buffet is expandable, some variety would be great. Hot rolls would be great, there was none of the 5days of our stay. There is filter coffee from the thermos. The team is very friendly and attentive. When checking out, the stalk from checking in was on duty again. Since we were both very tight-lipped, he admitted to being from Hamburg. He does not know the east of Germany. He was once in Mecklenburg Vorpommern. I bet he was lost!
