Romantik Seehotel Ahlbecker Hof

Wonderful! It's pure history. The food could have been salted and the service unfriendly - we would have felt comfortable anyway. (Of course, both were according to the address to our complete satisfaction!) Mr Tornow, who is undoubtedly one of the top representatives of his guild, has a great deal to do with our satisfaction. This mixture of honest warmth and professionalism is great and makes him a perfect host. We will stay here again at the next opportunity and can really recommend this time-honored place to anyone.

We stayed for our little honeymoon trip at the Ahlbecker Hof and were a bit disappointed. During the booking we were asked if there was any special information about our trip, we stated that it was our honeymoon. This was not discussed at all upon our arrival and during our stay. We had not expected advantages but already with a friendly greeting (why else is it asked?). Very positive we found the breakfast, the selection left nothing to be desired. We stayed in a junior suite (without balcony), the room is old but cozy. The mattress was very good (not too soft), only the pillows gave no support at all. We did not like the kindness of the staff in the service, which we found with a few exceptions not particularly friendly or warm, there were rarely nice words or a smile. It made us feel like we weren't welcome. In one situation, we wanted to have a drink on the terrace and were harshly rejected that it was too cold. It was 14 degrees. We then asked another person who also turned us away. It was only when we shared our surprise at the reception that it was suddenly possible. To accommodate the staff, we brought the drinks out ourselves and later back in. This experience did not leave us with a good feeling. All in all, we expected more hospitality from a hotel that calls itself “the first house in the square”. Staying at the Ahlbecker Hof at the weekend was very nice for us. The staff friendly, the breakfast varied and delicious and the location just unbelievable.
