Mercure Aachen Europaplatz

This hotel has sadly lost the quality it once had. It used to feel welcoming, with excellent service and a comfortable atmosphere, but that is no longer the case. The removal of the reception desk has made the experience feel impersonal, and relying on self-service check-in takes away the hospitality you expect from a hotel. When I arrived to check in, there were three male employees standing nearby, but none of them acknowledged me or offered any assistance. I had to ask for help before someone finally came over to assist. The hotel now feels more like an Ibis than a Mercure. The difference is that an Ibis doesn't charge €160 per night without breakfast. For that price, I expected a much higher standard of service and a proper hotel reception. Overall, the hotel falls well below the standard I would expect from a Mercure. Unfortunately, I would not choose to stay here again.

The hotel is clean and modern, but very unpersonnal. The checking and check out are made with machine and do not provide essential information. The room cleannîg is unclude in the price but you have to ask to have it and it is not because you ask the cleaning is done. I stayed 2 full week and the 1st week the room was clean only 2 times... but I was paying full price. The hotel is easy to acess by car and park the car. To join the city center it is 20 minutes walk.

I cannot fault this hotel on any single thing including location, parking and price. A spotlessly-clean hotel with great staff.
