Kardinal Schulte Haus

This is basically a conference centre. Very good breakfast with plenty of choice. Great view of Cologne from hotel. 10 minutes walk to Bus and Train Station. Secure parking in open. The entrance is gated. Good value for my stay. Very clean and quiet in summer holiday season. In Summer 2026 the Metro train is being repaired. Replacement bus service is every 30 minutes but satisfactory. Evening meals limited to Flammkuchen (a very thin crust pizza) but with a huge variety of toppings. Other restaurants in local village.

Large and very clean hotel with friendly reception and pleasant atmosphere. Our room faced the park with a pleasant view of the forest. Especially beautiful is the location on a hill with a wide view of the plain. Good parking options are also available directly at the hotel. The center can be easily reached in about 10 minutes on foot. We found the self-service at the bar in the evening a bit unusual – with prices like those with table service. The breakfast was sufficient and offered everything for a good start to the day.

The place is exactly like in the pictures, amazing view for Cologne. With little walking (10-15 min slow walking) you can reach the train/metro nr 1 and a bus station. With that train you can reach the Messe, the center of the city and the Cathedral too. Mostly everything what you can watch in the city. So is in perfect place if you dont wana fight with driving, parking etc in the city. At the Reception they was very nice, answered all our questions and was very helpfull :) There is büfé dinner too, but you need to tell forward if you wana or not. In 2025 their normal restaurant is closed, because they are renewing it. So beatiful silent place. Was always a good feeling to go back after a noisy, crowed city walking:) Negative thing? hmm no aircondition , but if we opened the windows was cooling down during the night (no mosquito-net on them), if you are staying there during the day could be warm, but to us was not really problem. Ahhh the breakfest realy wroth it and was amazing, but if you wana apple juice go for opening:DD there was always orange and all another type, but somehow the apple went out really fast:D
