This is a rather odd hotel. The architecture of the building is interesting. The corridors seem you are not in a hotel by a house of ill repute, this feeling on enhanced by the artwork in the showers. The rooms are basic and a little dated. The staff in general friendly and efficient. The major issue with the hotel is the extreme lack of air conditioning, they have a heat exchanger with the river near by. This means when the river is warm, when you need AC it’s less effective. They do have portable ac units which require ice to top up to keep cool, available for each room and you are able to have many units in one room. Apparently any room on any floor in around 80 gets really hot during the day. So in the summer one to avoid. Also any room over looking the center could be quite loud if there is an event on.

I received a wellness day with an overnight stay as a gift. The room was nice enough, but unfortunately not suited for 5 stars. The air conditioning did not really work at over 30 degrees. Sleep was not possible. However, after a complaint, a cooling device was provided, which did not really cool. The refrigerator was broken and the drinks were warm. Everything was a bit worn out and not really clean! Bath towels were yellowed! We went to the pool and wellness area, where the steam sauna and the regular sauna were good. Unfortunately, shower gel was not replenished... not even the next day. The pool was unfortunately completely dirty and cloudy... one slipped on the pool floor... slimy and too many people. No circulation pump or fresh water supply. Supply. It would be best to send the health department there. There are moss deposits in the drainage grooves! The same goes for the stairs and wooden planks. The restaurant Ludwig was great, the food and service were good. Price performance was okay. Breakfast is abundant! However, there is absolutely no qualified service staff; everything is unstructured and disorganized. I have experienced better 4-star hotels. For the price range... absolutely not a grand hotel.

Just checked in with my wife. At Aldi, they quickly open another register when there are lines; not here. There was also no supervisor for the receptionist. Premium room would also be small for solo travelers. Duvet, glasses, cups -> everything for one person. Reluctantly, a revision was promised. The housekeeping service was then excellent.
