⭐ 1 Star – Extremely disappointing and disrespectful treatment After almost three years of regularly staying at Hotel Rhein-Ruhr and spending a considerable amount of money there, I never expected to be treated the way I was during my latest three-week stay. My experience with Mr. Wolfgang was extremely disappointing. I found his behaviour towards me rude, dismissive and completely unprofessional. I was made to feel as if I was a problem rather than a valued returning guest. I also had a very unpleasant experience with a female staff member from Vietnam, whose attitude towards me was equally disappointing and contributed to an extremely uncomfortable stay. After nearly three years of loyalty, I felt disrespected, unwanted and completely taken for granted. I was not expecting special treatment — only basic courtesy and respect. This experience has completely destroyed the trust and goodwill I had towards this hotel. One star is unfortunately the maximum I can give. I will not return to Hotel Rhein-Ruhr and cannot recommend this hotel to others.

Unfortunately, our stay was anything but satisfactory. The room and especially the bathroom made an unkempt and in some places heavily worn impression. The bed and the bed linen were not clean and showed visible stains and dirt. In the bathroom, the sink was dirty, and the water was apparently draining very poorly or backing up in the basin. The shower was also not in good condition. Clearly damaged or defective parts could be seen on the shower enclosure, and overall, many things did not appear to be properly cleaned or maintained. Dirt and damage were also visible in other places in the room and bathroom. Especially in a hotel, I expect that at least basic cleanliness, hygiene, and functioning equipment are guaranteed. In my view, there is a clear need for improvement and renovation here. However, I would like to highlight the breakfast as a positive. It was good and actually the only point we were really satisfied with. Due to the condition of the room and bathroom, I would unfortunately not recommend the hotel at this time.

We wanted to check in at 5:00 PM and the room was not ready. Annoying loss of time. The room was missing a shower door, the temperature control knob in the shower was broken off, the closet door was ripped from its guide rail, the floor lamp was shredded, and the ceiling was smeared. In addition, a used tissue was lying on the safe. The mattresses are children's mattresses for under 20 euros. How does such a hotel receive 4 stars?
