Best Western Premier Hotel Park Consul

lovely large room with free wi-fi and tea/coffee facilities, tv and fridge in room. no noise disruption slept soundly. staff welcoming helpful on arrival. i did not breakfast so cannot comment. 10/15 minute walk to large selection shops/cafe's and tram station for links in central Köln all in all nice stay and would stay again.

Stayed here as a couple but for business to attend the FIBO event. This hotel was expensive for 3 nights and it was far from Premium! I would not recommend staying here at all. Would NOT RETURN! The room was OK, however the bathroom very dated, sink backing up and not draining. Air con was set to 26 degrees. Unable to change. Didn't sleep due to the heat an when we asked reception, very unhelpful and nothing they could do to help apparently as the hotel runs off one system. The breakfast- DO NOT BOTHER! the most unhygienic breakfast area I have seen. We arrived to the restaurant and there were roughly 4 tables occupied, however all the other tables were left with dirty plates and glasses which hadn't been cleared. We found 1 table which was clean and this was next to a chrome trolley FULL OF DIRTY plates and mess which was so off putting, food was all over the floor and not swept. We then walked around the food area. It was disgraceful. Mess everywhere!!! Cross contamination. We witnessed a member of staff bring hot scrambled eggs and place this in with cold eggs and just stirred it in! Pancakes were still frozen. The chrome servers with the hot food were 90% empty. No food had been replenished. The plates and cutlery were disgusting. I complained and the staff saw nothing wrong with the state of the so called 'clean' plates and cutlery. Residue of food still on the plates - out of 15 all the plates were dirty. We did not eat anything! We complained to reception and there were a few guests also making the same complaint. I have travelled a lot and stayed in many hotels and this was the WORST restaurant and breakfast area I have seen. The hygiene was appalling!!

one of the worst hotels I have experienced. not only was the service underground also the hygienic conditions of the rooms were pathogenic. Even after notice, these were not turned off and in the "spare room" things got worse.
