Dorint Hotel Venusberg Bonn

Ministers used to come and go here! - and today? The grounds and the building are truly charming - but the service!!! 1. We were checked into a double room for 1 person: 1 duvet, one pillow. 1 towel! That really shouldn't happen. Especially annoying when you only notice it at night! 2. No coffee machine in the room! At €158/night and 4 stars, you can expect that today. 3. Breakfast is only available for €50/room. That was not apparent when booking! 4. There is a bar, but no staff. Drinks are in the refrigerator. 5. Room service only comes every 2nd day, which leads to us having cleaned the room more often than room service. After showering, the bathroom was underwater! 6. And then only one shower worked - the handheld shower didn't work, only the overhead one. - No problem for men! But for women! 7. Wonderfully, there is a parking garage for a measly €22/day - but access only via stairs. That is not handicap accessible! Summary: If you add everything up, one night with breakfast and a car costs €230 with minimal service! That will not go well for long! What a shame about the beautiful hotel!!

As a couple, we spent three days at the Dorint Hotel on Venusberg in Bonn. The hotel is superbly located in a forest area on Venusberg and offers a beautiful view of the Siebengebirge from the beer garden. Our room with a balcony was very nice and had all the amenities (including air conditioning, refrigerator) that one needs. Sufficient parking spaces (for a fee) are available. We used the underground garage, which was brilliant given the hot weather. The staff were super friendly, and the check-in and check-out went smoothly. Since we had beautiful summer weather, we enjoyed the lovely beer garden, once for dinner and to wind down the evening with a delicious drink. The food (we had Piri Piri guinea fowl as a starter and saltimbocca as a main course) was super tasty, and we would order it again anytime. Our server (Dennis) was super friendly, very competent, and knowledgeable, whether it was about the wine selection or presenting the interesting daily menu. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay with a lovely evening wind-down in the beer garden.

It was the first time we attended the Dorint Hotel's breakfast buffet on Bonn's Venusberg. Through a “social deal” we paid only €13.90 for the buffet, which is regularly set at €31 per person. We arrived at the restaurant just in time, our QR codes were scanned by a service representative, and we were able to secure a nice seat at the window. While one person was at the coffee machine getting drinks, two others set out to explore the buffet. There they were approached by the same employee and asked for her room number. This left the impression that she was implying that we were trying to sneak breakfast – even though she had received us kindly and checked the codes only a few minutes earlier. To the buffet itself: The selection includes various types of sausage, cheese and cereal, rolls, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages and pancakes and much more. At the so-called “hot counter” there are also fried eggs, but only for the fastest. They are quickly out of print and are very hesitant to be added. For the deal price of €13.90, the breakfast overall is okay. At the regular price of €31, however, it would be significantly overpriced. Only a few days earlier we had breakfast at Bonn Maritim – there the buffet cost 24 €, offered a much larger selection and also convinced much more in terms of taste.
