I wish I could give this place negative stars. Without a doubt, this was the worst hotel experience of my life. If you’d like to experience what hell feels like during a summer heatwave, book a top-floor room here. There is no air conditioning, and we were given a top-floor room that felt like an oven. Sleeping there was simply impossible. After the first night, we asked if we could shorten our five-night reservation to two -three nights and pay only for the nights we used, but the hotel refused and insisted on charging the full stay because of a supposed “minimum stay policy of 5 nights” What made the experience even more frustrating was the complete lack of empathy. While we were desperately trying to explain that the room was unbearably hot, the receptionist was sitting comfortably on the much cooler ground floor with three fans blowing directly at her, showing no willingness to help us find any reasonable solution. Absolutely unacceptable. Never again.

The hotel has its positives, but leaves questions unanswered about the value for money. The staff were very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. The location is very quiet but still well connected. You can walk to the light rail stop for about 10 minutes and from there you can reach Cologne city centre in 20 minutes every 10 minutes. Unfortunately, the sleeping comfort was limited as the mattresses were already a bit slack. What bothered me the most, however, is pricing. At a room rate of 117,00 € (excluding breakfast) I expect inclusive parking services. Since there are only local parking spaces in the area, you are forced to rent the underground car park for 11,00 € – that should be service at the room rate. Even more annoying was the breakfast: It was charged at 19.00 € per person. This price is too high for what is on offer. In addition, the price was not communicated to us before; we only saw it on the invoice at check-out. That's more transparent.
