Hotel am Stadion

Basic accommodation. Clean. Very convenient for Stadium & Sportspark. We did not realise breakfast wasn't included and would have been an additional 30 Euros each, which we thought was a lot, so went elsewhere (Duisberg coffee shop which was 10 mins walk and very good). Biggest downside for us was that the hotel could not store our bags for a few hours on the day we checked out. I had assumed this would be possible and it was very inconvenient to discover that this 'hotel' cannot store bags.

I would highly recommend this hotel, if you are traveling through or into Germany. Duisburg is just over the Dutch/German board, an ideal place to stop. The hotel very clean and the rooms are very modern. We found the staff, very helpful and friendly. There is some hotel parking, but loads of on street parking, in this quiet residential area. It is in walking distance to a very nice Chinese restaurant, shops and even a Lidl, should you need it. Added to this with it's competitive price, some 20 euros less than hotels 10 minutes away over the border and only being two minutes from the motorway, it's an ideal place to lay your weary head. Oh and it has dog friendly rooms.

It seemed as a quite and clean hotel. I left my room and table in a mess as I was in hurry, when I returned everything was put in places, all in order, make-up etc. I was impressed. I lived in single room, and my bathroom was large. There is a family run burger place downstairs. I tried salad and it wasn't good, my colleagues tried burgers, they were quite alright.
