Hotel Weidenhof

We were received very friendly. We had room 16. A lovely big room, lovely bed. Breakfast was also fine, there was something for everyone. Small 10 min walk to Christmas markets, ideal! Tip for parking: especially make reservations at qpark stadtmitte. Small 5 minute walk to t hotel.

Hotel close to everything in the center but no hotel to go back to. Small room (room 43) with far too small bathroom and not so clean, also no night light on either side of the bed. Had problems with noise from outside through window that could not close. When I asked to do something about it, first tape was used and the day after insistence a towel was placed on the opening. Without much result. So 2 nights in a row without real sleep. Already done many hotels in Düsseldorf, but never this one again.

Plus points: The hotel was about 20min walk from Altstad and that is certainly doable. Staff are friendly and helpful. Minus points: little choice at breakfast, and scrambled egg was just cold. Luckily we were allowed to drop off our luggage early, but we had to put it in a pen with a lot of junk in it. Because it is a 3 star hotel, there is no air conditioning, and with a temperature of 32 degrees the room is very hot. However, there were 2 fans, we had left them on because of the heat when we left the hotel. But when we came back there was suddenly a letter on the inside of the door, that complaints and bad reviews about the temperature were not fair because this letter explained why no air conditioning. And to our surprise, the fans were turned off. The bathroom had mold in the edges of the ceiling. The review we posted on booking.com we had an answer ,and unfortunately it clearly showed that they do not like negative reviews. It clearly stated "next time book another hotel" and "Your complaint is similar to someone who buys a small car and then complains that the small car does not have the luxury of a Mercedes S-Class." Not very professional.
