Leonardo Royal Dusseldorf Konigsallee

We spent 2 days in a junior suite on the 7th floor. It was quiet here, spacious, very comfortable beds, and the sofa in the 2nd room as an alternative sleeping space was really comfortable. The breakfast buffet left nothing to be desired, though it was also expensive. The ambiance is typical 'hotel chain,' especially the lobby and breakfast room, which are also quite dark. The location was perfect: Kö and the Old Town with the Rhine riverbank are easy to reach on foot, less than 100 m to the Graf-Adolf-Platz subway station. We had traveled for a concert at the Merkur-Arena; the accessibility was great.

I was a guest at the Leonardo Royal Düsseldorf from November 23, 2025, to November 25, 2025, and unfortunately, I was very dissatisfied in the end. Although I booked through HRS without a deposit, 224 euros were already charged to my credit card before my stay. At check-out, I was charged the full hotel rate again, so I ended up paying twice. The subsequent refund turned into a true test of patience. Despite numerous phone calls, emails, and repeated assurances, there was no refund for weeks. Only after I personally visited the hotel during a later stay in Düsseldorf and complained again did I receive my money back. Additionally, on the day of check-out, one of only two elevators was under maintenance during peak departure time. As a result, I had to wait over 30 minutes for an elevator with my luggage and presentation case, causing me to arrive late to a business appointment. Mistakes can happen. However, what matters is how professionally it is handled afterward. The weeks-long processing of a double charge and the lack of communication unfortunately left a poor impression on me. Since then, I have been booking other hotels for my business stays in Düsseldorf.

The hotel is in an excellent location and the staff were friendly. The room was small and was adjoined to another room through a closed door. There was no noise insulation between these rooms and I could hear next door's conversations as clear as if they were in the room with me, despite them not being at all loud. The room was incredibly hot with no way to regulate the internal temperature (there was a temperature gauge but it did not work). The room and overall hotel was very clean but I do not think that the price for one night reflects the quality of the place.
