MESSEHOTEL-MEDICI

I decided to stay in Messehotel Medici due to its convenient location close to the Messe Dusseldorf area - it's only 2 stops by U-Bahn and the nearest stop is just few minutes walking distance from the hotel. The hotel is of 2 star standard - rather small and basic, although very clean and with friendly staff. My room was ok, big enough, with two single beds (with very soft mattresses which I found uncomfortable but it's subjective). The bathroom was small but clean, there were no cosmetics available apart from the liquid soap; the interesting point was the fact the big bathroom window had no curtain or shade, and it overlooked the street and a neighbouring house, so I felt a little bit ill-at-ease. There is no bar or restaurant in the hotel so for lunch or dinner you need to go out, there is a restaurant in the sister-hotel nearby (2 minutes walk), but I was not fully satisfied with the food and service there. The breakfast is served on the premises, it's very basic and the selection is limited. The coffee is awful. There is a bakery across the street and next time I would rather go there for a breakfast. I got the WiFi code per request but it worked really well. I need to admin the receptionist was nice, patient, willing to help and speaking good English, well done. However, another lady at the reception I met on the next day didn't speak English that well. The important remark to made is that the hotel is also very close to the airport and you can hear the noise of the planes taking off and landing, and it is really loud - if you are sensitive this may disturb you in have a good night's sleep.

Stayed during the BOOT Messe for 9 nights at this hotel. We decided to stay here because it would be more quiet then it sister hotel Wartburg. It is nice and quiet but that's as good as it gets. Breakfast choice is minimal, somehow every morning there is only 1 whole grain bread bun available and first one gets it. No more after that. After 3 nights I got back pains from the thin mattresses they have and did not sleep well every night after that. I asked for a different mattress but the receptionist said that these are all new mattresses, just put in there 1 month ago. No other option. Only one very positive point : they have a fast and free internet connection. Next year we will find a different hotel for the trade show.

Hotel is very near to airport easy to reach by bus 760 (2x hour, 3 €)) or taxi (approx 15 €) After 23.00 hours reception is closed and yiou have to get key from nearby hotel (200 meters walk) Reasdonable breakfast very kind staff. WiFI only available whgen reception is open and against payment! Price of room is one of the lowest in the surroundings and for sure the lowest so close by but still rather high for what you get (breakfast additionlly to be paid for). They say it is only 1.6 km from the airport but it is for sure more, but still relatively close by and therefor very convenient. So if you only need a place to crash no problem.
