Hotel Zur Flora

Stayed over at this hotel. The costs for 1 single room are very cheap but the room I had was not very nice and comfortable. The smell was terrible and if you open the window you smell the iron shop. The wifi system Was not working very good and needs improvement. The owner was very friendly and the breakfast simple but Oke. This hotel needs a complete up lift.

We stayed at this charming hotel last October when we were visiting relatives in Kettwig, it was a spacious and comfortable room with a large en-suite. Breakfast was substantial with good selection of bread and rolls together with meat and cheese. The only thing that could have been improved upon was to have tea/coffee making facilities within the room, but I think that maybe an English thing!

Have stayed four times in this wonderful clean B & B to be near dear friends in Essen-Kettwieg. They first recommended it and we would stay nowhere else. Rooms are spotlessly clean, the breakfast is wonderful with nice selection of meats, cheese, breads, fruit etc. They also serve great dinners and we have had group celebrations there with our friends several times. We are going to be in Germny in November and came online to make a new reservation. Do not know exact dates of visits but all were equally fine. Also very secure with locked outside door and adequate parking. Lots of locals are there in the evening for beer and dinner. The surroundings are beautiful, woodsy and close enough to walk across the Ruhr to the little town of Kettwig. We love it! Mr. & Mrs. Wesley K. James, Lincoln, CA (formerly Los Gatos, CA)
