Hotel Palla Garni

I needed a room during a major trade exhibition in Essen. All of the large chains were charging 200% or 300% of their typical rates and none of them were worth the money. I found Hotel Palla and booked a room for what I thought was an amazingly low nightly rate. This is a small hotel in a quiet neighborhood and very inexpensive, you should not expect all of the services of a major chain, but you should also be prepared for pleasant surprises. I found the room and the bed to be very comfortable. The buffet breakfast is very good and the garden area for breakfast is beautiful. A short walk from Hotel Palla is a tapas restaurant called Cafe and Bar Celona. It is excellent.

The room we where in was spacious clean and nice. The breakfast was also good and versatile. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel and we liked it so much that would stay there again if we would go to Essen.

+ The apartment was a good size for my family. The breakfast buffet was good and free for my kids. We could have easily stayed comfortably for many days in cooler weather. 20 minutes from CentrO Mall/Legoland Discovery Center. - No A/C is not unusual for Europe but to also not have any fans makes it a bad place to stay if it is warm. It was stuffy in May; I would HATE to be there come June/July.
